GHD is seeking a skilled Transportation Systems Designer to join our team in Canada. As an Intermediate Designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of transportation by designing and developing innovative solutions for complex transportation challenges.

About the Role

This position offers a unique opportunity to work on large-scale transportation projects, including highways, freeways, and multimodal corridors. You will be responsible for producing high-quality design work in an integrated 3D environment, applying technical knowledge and coordination skills to solve complex problems, and collaborating with senior staff and other disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in and complete roadway, highway, and freeway projects, and/or multi-modal corridors under the direction of senior staff
  • Produce design work in an integrated 3D environment that meets or exceeds company and industry quality standards
  • Apply technical knowledge and coordination skills to solve problems on complex multi-disciplinary projects
  • Potential for acting as a technical lead or lead drafter for a defined scope of work
  • Potential for contact and coordination with sub-disciplines and external agencies
  • Supervise the performance of more junior team members

Requirements

  • 3-8 years' experience in road systems and/or highway design
  • Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering
  • MTO and/or Metrolinx experience is an asset but not required
  • Interest or experience with new design tools and technologies such as BIM platforms, design programming, visualizations, and automation are considered assets
  • Experience with Construction Administration & Inspection are considered assets
