Job Title: Rehabilitation Physiotherapy Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Rehabilitation Physiotherapy Assistant to join our team in the Neuro/Stroke department at North York General Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the hospital's academic mandate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement treatment plans as prescribed by supervising occupational and/or physical therapists, observing and reporting changes in patient status to team members.
  • Perform administrative duties, including documentation and workload data entry.
  • Maintain a clean and hazard-free environment, ensuring the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Lead group sessions and motivate patients to participate in their rehabilitation programs.
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Diploma from an accredited college Occupational Therapy Assistant/Physiotherapy Assistant (OTA/PTA) program.
  • Ability to apply physiotherapeutic modalities.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Experience in medical in-patient acute settings.
  • Proficient with computers, MS Word, internet searches, data entry, and patient information systems.
  • Bilingualism in French/English an asset.
