Job Title: Physiotherapy Assistant - Rehabilitation Support

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Physiotherapy Assistant to join our team at St. George's Physiotherapy Clinic. As a key member of our rehabilitation team, you will work closely with physiotherapists and occupational therapists to provide high-quality care to patients with various injuries or disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out treatment programs under the direction of physiotherapists and/or occupational therapists.
  • Follow through on treatment programs with patients.
  • Help physical therapists with patient care.
  • Position patients for treatments by chiropractor or machine.
  • Set up and dismantle equipment.
  • Clean and maintain equipment.
  • Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies.
  • Operate and maintain sterilization equipment and instrumentation for re-use according to standardized safety practices.
  • Process claims such as health insurance or workers compensation.
  • Maintain supplies.
  • Connect treatment machines to patients, as directed by chiropractor.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment.
  • Perform general clerical duties.
  • Process files and paperwork.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments.
  • Manage routine office functions including reception, telephone and booking appointments.
  • Teach and/or supervise exercises to patients.
  • Order supplies and equipment.
  • Organize and maintain inventory.

Requirements:

  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
  • Experience: 5 years or more or equivalent experience.

Work Environment: Fast-paced environment. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Attention to detail.

Language: English.

Work Term: Permanent.

Hours: 40 hours per week.
