We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Carpenter to join our team at School District #41 (Burnaby). As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of carpentry tasks, including new construction, renovation, and maintenance of our school buildings and structures.
Key Responsibilities- Perform carpentry work, including construction, renovation, and maintenance of school buildings and structures
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with safety protocols
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and facilities staff to achieve project goals
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to all relevant regulations and guidelines
- Develop and implement effective solutions to complex carpentry problems
- Grade 12 diploma (or equivalent)
- Successful completion of the B.C. Apprenticeship Program and a valid BC or Interprovincial Journeyman Carpenter Trades Qualification (TQ)
- Four years related work experience as a Journeyman (post TQ)
- Demonstrated training and work experience in current BC construction/maintenance safety requirements
- Valid B.C. Driver's License (Class 5)
- Experience in cabinet making (Joinery) is a definite asset
- Experience using production line shop joinery equipment such as table saws, edger, joiner and dowel machines are an asset
- Competitive hourly rate of $42.51
