Roofing Assistant

At SMITH-PEAT ROOFING AND SHEET METAL LTD., we are seeking a skilled Roofing Assistant to join our team. As a Roofing Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in the construction of roofs, including loading, unloading, and transporting construction materials. You will also be involved in erecting and dismantling concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades. Additionally, you will assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs. The ideal candidate will have no degree, certificate, or diploma, but will be willing to train. You will work outdoors, at heights, and in various locations. The work environment will be physically demanding, with repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, and working in a team. You will be required to wear steel-toed safety boots and will have access to dental and health care plans, life insurance, and support for newcomers and refugees. Key Responsibilities:

  • Loading, unloading, and transporting construction materials
  • Erecting and dismantling concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades
  • Assisting in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs
  • Removing rubble and other debris at construction sites
  • Tending or feeding machines or equipment used in construction
