About the Job:

The Licensed Practical Nurse Team Leader plays a crucial role in coordinating Home Support Services by supervising a team of healthcare professionals, including Licensed Practical Nurses, Community Health Workers, and other unregulated members. This involves overseeing the implementation of client care plans, providing training and evaluation of care provided by staff, and advocating for changes that improve client care.

In collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the Nurse Leader performs assessments, makes nursing diagnoses, implements and provides personal and nursing care for clients in a community health setting. This role operates in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards and unit specific protocols.

This is a casual opportunity, which means hours are not guaranteed and may vary, and shifts may be at short notice. However, casual employees are eligible to apply for internal postings, including permanent and temporary positions. Many opportunities with Interior Health begin with casual employment and lead to regular employment.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days and evenings, rotating from 06:30 to 14:30, 13:00 to 21:00, 14:00 to 22:00, and 08:00 to 16:00 hours.
