Community Leader

Canada Post is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Leader to operate a central post office in the community. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about providing excellent customer service and is comfortable with sales and cash transactions.

This position offers a competitive salary and a leasing allowance of $2,578 per year to help offset the costs of operating a post office. In addition, an annual supplemental allowance may be available to assist with premises-related expenses.

• Liaise with the local community regarding Canada Post services and products
• Sell and promote postal products and services to the public and businesses
• Administer the post office to meet retail hours of operation and delivery expectations
• Manage postal revenue, assets, and values
• Maintain records and prepare reports
• Assist with effective management of mail delivery routes

• High School Diploma or equivalent and/or experience in business administration
• Owned or leased premises available one month prior to the date of hire, suitable, central, and barrier-free
• Experience interacting with the public in a retail and/or service environment, including sales and cash transactions
• Knowledge of regulations, methods, and procedures for processing mail and providing postal services
• Physical fitness to lift mail containers up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods

Please note that this position may be considered safety-sensitive and requires additional requirements under Canada Post's Substance Use Policy. As part of the selection process, selected candidates will undergo a security screening. Preference will be given to applicants residing within a 50 km radius of the post office. The working hours for this position are 27 hours per week, Monday to Thursday from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm, Friday from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm.
