Meat Cutter Position in Lethbridge, Alberta

About the Role: Safeway is seeking a skilled Meat Wrapper to join their team at their location in Lethbridge, Alberta. As a key member of the store's meat department, this individual will be responsible for ensuring customers have an exceptional shopping experience by providing top-quality products and superior service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to questions and concerns about various cuts of meat
- Maintain and build merchandise displays in accordance with Safeway's programs
- Use commercial power equipment, such as hand wrappers and scales, to prepare meats for display
- Receiving and rotating product to ensure freshness and quality
- Filling meat counter and showcases with a variety of products
- Cleaning and sanitizing work areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment
Requirements and Qualifications:
- No previous experience required, but knowledge of various cuts of meat is an asset
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing situations
- Highly motivated and team-oriented, with excellent communication skills
- Possess strong Customer Service qualities, including patience and understanding
Benefits and Compensation: Safeway offers a competitive compensation package, which includes regular pay increases for hourly employees, flexible scheduling, and a comprehensive benefit plan that includes employer-funded prescription drug coverage, vision care, dental coverage, and a pension plan for eligible employees. The estimated salary for this position is $25-30 per hour, based on location and market conditions.
Physical Requirements: This role requires constant lifting of up to 20 pounds, occasional lifting of between 20-50 pounds, and frequent standing, bending, walking, twisting, carrying, pushing or pulling. Occasional exposure to cold temperatures may also be required.
