About the Role
">At Serenis Canada - Montréal, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Northern Region Foster Care Specialist to join our team in Nunavik. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about working with vulnerable populations and providing exceptional support to foster families.
">Job Summary
">The successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting foster families, conducting assessments and evaluations, determining the best matches for children's specific needs, and providing ongoing support to foster families. They will also manage the family room in Puvirnituq, verify clothing allowances, and assist with administrative tasks related to foster family payments and reimbursements.

- Recruit and assess foster families to ensure they meet the necessary requirements for caring for children.">
- Conduct initial and follow-up assessments to determine the best matches for children's specific needs.">
- Provide ongoing support and training to foster families to ensure they have the necessary skills and resources to care for children.">
- Manage the family room in Puvirnituq, ensuring it is well-organized and equipped with necessary resources.">
- Verify clothing allowances for children and assist with shopping to ensure they have adequate clothing and supplies.">
- Assist with administrative tasks related to foster family payments, reimbursements, and payroll checks.">
- Collaborate with various partners and community resources to ensure seamless support for foster families and children.">
Requirements

- Diploma or degree in Youth Correctional Intervention Techniques, Special Education, Social Work, or related field.">
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel between communities.">
- Experience working with vulnerable populations, including children and families.">
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.">
- Ability to manage stress related to the mandate and northern living conditions.">
