We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Welder to join our team at Compass Energy Systems Ltd. As a key member of our Structural Department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality welding services for the fabrication of Compressor Skids and Components.
Key Responsibilities:- Read and interpret blueprints and/or welding process specifications to ensure accurate and efficient fabrication.
- Follow all welding procedures as required to maintain quality standards and ensure safe working practices.
- Set up and operate welding machines and relevant equipment to achieve precise and high-quality results.
- Cut and cope structural steel to meet project requirements.
- Fabricate and assemble skids and structural subassemblies using welding techniques.
- Use radiograph, hand torches, welding machines, power, and hand tools to complete tasks efficiently.
- Participate in our Quality Control Program to ensure adherence to industry standards.
- Communicate effectively with Foreman/Lead Hand to identify material or equipment deficiencies and ensure timely job progression.
- Organize and maintain a clean and functional work area, adhering to Compass Safety Program guidelines.
- Assist in other areas of the shop as required and assigned by Foreman/Lead Hand.
- Journeyman Welding Ticket with CWB certification.
- Proficiency in FCAW and SMAW welding processes.
- Fitting experience is a strong asset.
- Must have own tools as per the Compass Tool List for Tradesmen.
- Knowledge and understanding of Quality Control procedures: CWB.
- Knowledge and understanding of OH&S, rigging, sling, and crane operation procedures.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Team player with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a noisy, smoky, dusty shop environment with varying temperatures.
