About the Role

GHD is seeking a highly experienced Senior Environmental Project Engineer to join our North American team in a Project Engineering Design and Construction role, with a specialization in contaminated sites. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing senior leadership and mentorship on environmental remediation projects, working closely with multi-disciplinary project teams, and managing design projects including project teams, budgets, timelines, and deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support strategic pursuits focused on federal sector and private industrial clients
  • Provide senior leadership and mentorship on environmental remediation projects
  • Work within multi-disciplinary project teams, providing environmental advice to other GHD teams
  • Remain current on standard methodologies for innovative remediation approaches
  • Manage design projects, including project teams, budgets, timelines, and deliverables
  • Manage the development and review of technical environmental reports, drawings, and specifications
  • Opportunity to work on local, national, and global projects, which may require some travel
  • Support and mentor junior team members in a learning and collaborative atmosphere
Requirements
  • 15+ years of experience
  • Accredited Professional Engineer in Canada or the US
  • Civil or environmental engineering degree
  • Possession of a designation to be used to stamp/certify designs
  • Experience with developing and implementing strategies for complex remediation and/or risk management
  • Experience in the technical delivery of investigations, designs, including drawings and specifications, and construction support for environmental remediation projects in Canada and the US
  • Experience and desire to provide high-profile clients with responsive and innovative solutions
  • Experience working on Canadian and/or US Federal projects is considered an asset
  • Proven experience in client advocacy while developing trusted relationships with regulators
  • Strong understanding of Canadian (including Ontario) environmental legislation
  • Understanding of US environmental legislation is considered an asset
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and report writing skills
  • Strong commitment to client service excellence
