Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team as a Field Service Technician. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and commissioning of mechanical aspects of Battery Electric mining equipment and components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and servicing of equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Planning and execution of maintenance tasks, including the procurement of necessary tools and parts.
  • Commissioning of new equipment, including pre-delivery inspections and hot commissioning at customer sites.
  • Root cause analysis and troubleshooting of mechanical issues to identify and resolve problems.
  • Conducting maintenance and repair work, including preventive and cost-efficient repairs.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to customers on maintenance and servicing principles.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations, including the identification and reporting of unsafe work habits and incidents.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to achieve team goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Diploma in a Mechanical or Electrical field and Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic License.
  • At least 3 years of related experience with mining equipment, with previous experience with Sandvik equipment being an asset.
  • Excellent proficiency in reading schematics and diagnosing mechanical issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to customers and colleagues.
  • Computer literacy, including MS Office, and a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work varied shifts and travel to local mine sites and across Western Canada as required.
