Manufacturing Strategy Director

Smart Skin Technologies, a global leader in manufacturing optimization solutions, is seeking a visionary Director of Manufacturing Strategy & Operations to drive the transformation and scaling of our manufacturing processes. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a transformative manufacturing vision, optimizing lab-scale manufacturing for scalability, and leading cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute a transformative manufacturing vision for the next 3-5 years, aligning with business needs and market demands.
- Lead the actions required to scale existing operations, optimize supply chain efficiency, and achieve production and quality goals.
- Optimize lab-scale manufacturing for scalability, implement cost-effective methods, and outsource and manage relationships with contract manufacturers and assembly partners.
- Set benchmark expectations, hold teams accountable, and deliver progress reports to ensure deliverables meet budgets and timelines.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize product design for scalable manufacturing, oversee logistics, inventory management, vendor relations, and warehouse operations, and enhance supply chain efficiency to support growth.
- Drive a step change in team productivity, lead and mentor cross-functional teams, and foster a culture of operational excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
- Ensure production meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and federal and provincial regulations, and maintain a healthy and safe working environment.
- 10 years of experience in leading high-quality manufacturing assembly operations.
- Energetic and engaging personality with a natural propensity for strong daily management and leading change.
- Proven ability to develop and execute a transformative manufacturing vision, with excellent strategic planning, project management, and process improvement skills.
- Strong background in outsourcing manufacturing processes and supply chain optimization.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership abilities.
- Knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Willingness to be based in Fredericton with international travel for benchmarking and partnership development.
