We are seeking a highly skilled Underwriting Consultant to join our team at BMO. As an Underwriting Consultant, you will be responsible for assessing and managing risk associated with life insurance applications. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong analytical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and evaluate complex medical and financial information to determine the level of risk associated with life insurance applications.
- Develop and implement underwriting strategies to manage risk and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including medical doctors and actuaries, to ensure accurate and consistent underwriting decisions.
- Communicate complex underwriting decisions to clients and internal stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to improve underwriting practices and processes.
- 5-10 years of experience in an underwriting environment.
- ALU II certification or working towards FALU certification.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make sound decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and clients.
- Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
