We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Wellness Consultant to join our team at Seven Oaks General Hospital. As a key member of our fitness programs services, you will play a vital role in supporting members to make positive lifestyle changes and achieve their health and wellness goals.
Key Responsibilities- Assess members' needs and develop personalized lifestyle plans to promote healthy habits and behavior change.
- Use motivational interviewing techniques to empower members to take control of their health and wellness.
- Monitor and supervise member usage of fitness equipment and provide guidance on safe and effective exercise practices.
- Develop and maintain a fun and engaging environment that promotes socialization and community building.
- Conduct daily safety and maintenance checks of equipment and assist with facility maintenance and cleaning as required.
- Two to five years' experience in health and lifestyle assessments, motivational interviewing, and training individuals with varying needs and fitness levels.
- Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Human Performance, Exercise Science, or equivalent.
- Master's degree in a related field is an asset.
- Training in exercise stress testing and exercise prescription for clients with chronic disease is required.
- Training in health behavior and lifestyle change, particularly from a self-management approach, is preferred.
- Certified Fitness Consultant and Personal Trainer (CFT) certification.
- Health Provider CPR certification.
- Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP) or equivalent certification is an asset.
This is a fast-paced, deadline-driven role that requires excellent communication and customer service skills. The successful candidate will be able to work in a team environment and prioritize tasks to meet departmental and client requirements.
