About the Role:

The Mircom Group of Companies is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team in the Mid West region. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for identifying and seizing new business development opportunities through a strong network of loyal partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute Mircom's strategic plans, upholding our values at all times.
  • Meet or exceed the territory's revenue and customer targets.
  • Increase market share by seeking out new relationships through sales events, trade shows, referrals, industry contacts, and warm/cold face-to-face sales calls.
  • Network to develop relationships within our marketplace and within vertical markets.
  • Maintain current relationships by supporting customer service efforts, conducting follow-up calls, profiling dealers, educating customers, and keeping abreast of new developments in the industry.
  • Offer and attend sales calls with Engineered Systems Distributors (ESDs), provide them with value engineering on RFQs, and offer quotations.
  • Proactively drive market intelligence gathering, uncover opportunities in growth verticals, and deliver sales wins in these growth areas.
  • Assist in implementing training in technology, products, sales skills, project registration, and other efforts.
  • Participate in industry events, including trade shows and association programs.
  • Visit with and provide lunch & learn sessions to the A&E community to promote visibility, awareness, and recognition of Mircom products.
  • Attend and contribute in Trade Association Meetings.

Requirements and Skills:

  • 1 to 3 years of Sales Management experience.
  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or a similar field.
  • 2+ years of experience in the Fire/Security or similar industry.
  • Self-motivator with a proven organizational track record.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of PC-based applications (Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft AX CRM software would be an asset.
  • Possess a current valid driver's license.
  • Hold a NICET certification is a bonus.
  • Social Media savvy.
  • Technically proficient to review and discuss project plans.
  • Willingness to travel within the territory, including some overnight and air travel.
  • Must reside within the territory mentioned for the role.
