Job Title: Food Store Supervisor

Milton Halal Meat is seeking a highly motivated and organized Food Store Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food store, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a high level of product quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise Staff: Lead and motivate a team of sales associates, ensuring they provide exceptional customer service and meet sales targets.
  • Assign Sales Workers: Effectively allocate tasks and responsibilities to ensure a smooth and efficient store operation.
  • Hire and Train: Recruit, train, and develop staff members to meet the needs of the store and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Teach Interest Courses: Organize and deliver training sessions to enhance staff knowledge and skills.
  • Order Merchandise: Coordinate the receipt and storage of merchandise, ensuring accurate inventory levels.
  • Authorize Returns: Process returns and exchanges, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Establish Work Schedules: Create and manage staff schedules to meet business needs and ensure adequate coverage.
  • Sell Merchandise: Provide excellent customer service, promoting products and meeting sales targets.
  • Prepare Reports: Analyze sales data, merchandising, and personnel matters to inform business decisions.
  • Resolve Issues: Address customer complaints, supply shortages, and other operational challenges.
  • Organize Inventory: Maintain accurate inventory levels, ensuring efficient stock management.
  • Supervise Activities: Oversee the daily activities of sales associates, ensuring a high level of productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee Payroll: Manage payroll administration, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
  • Conduct Performance Reviews: Evaluate staff performance, providing constructive feedback and coaching.
Requirements:
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a retail or supervisory role.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 35-40 hours per week.
Work Environment:

  • Work Under Pressure: Manage stress and pressure in a high-volume sales environment.
  • Handling Heavy Loads: Lift and move merchandise as required.
