Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced software development professional to assist our clients in identifying eligible tax incentives for scientific research and experimental development (SR&ED) activities. As a Tax Incentives Software Development Expert, you will work closely with our clients to gather detailed information required for SR&ED filings with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

  • Attend meetings with chief technology officers, chief architects, and software developers to identify eligible projects.
  • Gather detailed information required for SR&ED filings with the CRA.
  • Discuss methods, algorithms, and constructs that push the boundaries of current software engineering knowledge.
  • Identify qualifying software development and engineering activities for the SR&ED program.
  • Prepare technical summaries articulating how these activities contribute to the advancement of technology and computer science principles.
  • Provide input to or assist in the preparation of costing schedules for SR&ED tax credit claims.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in a field related to software development.
  • Work experience in a technical role is highly recommended, particularly in product or process management type roles where you contributed technically.
  • Strong background in software, computer science, or related fields such as mechatronics.
  • Awareness of Jira, Confluence, GitHub, or other software development life cycle (SDLC) tools is an asset.
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering concepts may be helpful.
