Job SummaryThis exciting position involves providing technical expertise in maintaining and operating advanced scientific imaging platforms. As an Imaging Technologist, you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining complex research imaging equipment, including confocal microscopes, live cell imaging systems, and flow cytometers;
- Providing training and guidance to students, faculty members, and staff on safe operation of advanced imaging equipment;
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and efficient operation of all imaging equipment in the department;
- Troubleshooting issues with equipment and developing creative solutions to complex problems.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and maintaining a wide range of research imaging equipment, including biohazardous and chemical materials;
- Providing expert advice on appropriate imaging modalities and sample preparation to students and staff;
- Designing and implementing new research experiment procedures and protocols using scientific methods and principles;
- Collaborating with researchers to develop innovative imaging solutions for various projects.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A minimum 3-year Technologist diploma in medical laboratory technology or related area;
- 5 years' experience in cell/tissue imaging systems, and advanced laboratory animal imaging;
- Advanced microscopy experience, including Confocal, multiphoton, super-resolution, and Cytometry applications;
- Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
