Tenancy Support Specialist

Job SummaryThe Tenancy Support Mentor will work closely with the Case Manager to provide daily support and guidance to youth in our Independent Living with Supports Program. This program is designed to help young adults transition to independent living and achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities- Build positive relationships with participants and help them identify their strengths and goals.
- Empower participants to gain independent living skills, such as budgeting, accessing community resources, and maintaining housing.
- Provide creative and hands-on learning experiences that reflect participants' goals and objectives.
- Assist participants in searching for and viewing apartments, and provide support in maintaining living areas.
- Develop relationships with landlords and mediate issues between participants and landlords.
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure consistency in supporting participants' goals.
- Organize time effectively to complete tasks and administration duties.
- Four years of related experience working with at-risk youth.
- Experience with one-on-one mentorship and a strong understanding of independent living.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Child and Youth Care, or a combination of education and experience.
- Willingness to obtain necessary training, including Crisis De-escalation and Child Development.
- Ability to navigate crisis situations and support others through stressful situations.
