Job Opportunity

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic professional educators to join our team as Elementary School Guidance Counselors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to students in a elementary school setting.
  • Develop and implement counseling programs to promote student well-being and academic success.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to support student learning and development.
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with students, parents, and community members.

Requirements:

  • Professional teaching certificate.
  • Minimum of two years of successful classroom teaching experience.
  • Master's degree recognized by the Teacher Regulation Branch in counseling psychology (or a related discipline with a focus in counseling).
  • Training and/or experience as an Elementary School Counselor as per School District Policy #510 and #510R.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Both training and experience as a School Counselor.
  • Experience with grades K-6 age groupings.
  • Indigenous ancestry (as per Special Program with the BC Human Rights Tribunal).

Compensation:

The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $57,972 to $106,217, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
