About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Analytical Operations Specialist to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our analytical operations group, you will be responsible for providing analytical support for the site cleaning verification program.

Responsibilities include collecting samples, performing analytical testing, making detailed observations, reviewing, documenting, and communicating test results. You will also be expected to independently carry out HPLC, HPLC/MS, UPLC/MS, and physical testing analysis following established procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Essential Functions
  • Document all experimental data in accordance with Attributable, Legible, Contemporaneous, Original, and Accurate (ALCOA) standards.
  • Independently carry out analytical testing following established procedures and SOPs.
  • Carry out swab sampling on manufacturing equipment.
  • Work proficiently with Empower, NuGenesis, MS Word, and Excel software.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting to overcome system suitability failures.
  • Recognize and report unexpected or Out Of Specification (OOS) results immediately to the Supervisor and conduct laboratory investigations under direction.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and report potential hazards.
  • Perform alternating or rotating shift work as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

A degree in chemistry or a related field.

Minimum 1 year experience in a science-related environment.

Good understanding of basic chemistry and experience with common laboratory equipment and operation.

Good problem-solving skills and logical approach to solving scientific problems.

Demonstrable interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).

Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.

Ability to apply mathematical operations to tasks such as determination of test reliability, analysis of variance, and correlation techniques.

Works well independently and in a team environment.

Salary Information

The estimated salary range for this position is $70,000 - $100,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
