Job Summary

The Sensplex Ice Maintenance Technician is a key member of the Senators Sports & Entertainment team, responsible for ensuring the highest standard of ice maintenance at the Bell and Richcraft Sensplex facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Flood and maintain ice for all 4 pads according to the daily schedule
  • Assist with maintaining a safe and clean environment throughout the facility
  • Perform janitorial duties in the dressing room
  • Ensure all entrances are clear and safe of debris and snow
  • Conduct basic maintenance tasks throughout the facility
  • Complete log reports as required
  • Manage ice maintenance equipment and perform minor repairs
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Maintain building standards
  • Participate in event planning and special projects
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations
  • Assist with annual maintenance projects
Health and Safety Responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) regulations and internal policies
  • Use protective equipment and report any missing or defective equipment
  • Report contraventions of OHSA regulations or company policies
  • Have knowledge of emergency evacuation procedures
Training and Development
  • Complete online training modules, including Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability (AODA) and Ontario Worker Health & Safety Awareness
  • Attend on-site training sessions as scheduled
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years experience in a recreation facility as a driver
  • Class 'B' Refrigeration Operator Certificate preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude an asset
  • Certification in first aid, CPR, and defibrillation
  • Ability to lift heavy objects
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work overnight, weekends, and holidays
  • Knowledge of equipment repairs and usage
