Job Summary:

Brandt is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team in the Elk Valley and surrounding area. As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of mining, construction, and forestry-based equipment and attachments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the working condition of heavy duty equipment, diagnose issues, and perform repairs and maintenance tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Utilize related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Accurately document all machine information, actions taken, and time taken on work orders.
  • Continuously assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
  • Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
  • Locate and order parts from parts personnel using parts catalogues.
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.

Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
  • Ability to meet physical demands, including climbing, overhead lifting, prolonged standing, sensory processing, and fine motor control.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment.
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade.
  • Commitment to customer service and service excellence.
