Job Summary

Brandt is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team in the Elk Valley and surrounding area, reporting to our Cranbrook location. This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of mining, construction, and forestry-based equipment and attachments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Efficiently evaluate the working condition of heavy-duty equipment, diagnose issues, assemble/disassemble, order parts, and perform repairs.
  • Utilize secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Operate related instruments, hand tools, power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems.
  • Accurately document machine information, actions taken, and time spent on work orders.
  • Continuously assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
  • Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
  • Locate and order parts from parts personnel using parts catalogues.
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.
Requirements
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
  • Meet physical demands, including climbing, overhead lifting, prolonged standing, sensory processing, and fine motor control.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
