Family Preservation and Reunification Clinician

Job Summary:

The Link is seeking a compassionate and experienced Family Preservation and Reunification Clinician to join our team. As a key member of our Kent Road Lodge Program, you will provide clinical supports and out-of-home respite services to children and families involved with Winnipeg, Rural and Northern Child and Family Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct mental health assessments and provide support to youth in their home environment.
  • Collaborate with caregivers to develop strategies and evidence-based parenting practices.
  • Provide clinical documentation, including daily notes and respite session summaries.
  • Develop and implement goals for youth participating in the Kent Road Lodge program.
  • Support program staff in utilizing consistent and appropriate strategies and approaches.
  • Work with children and youth to problem-solve, manage conflict, and maintain boundaries.
  • Provide mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual support to participants based on the Medicine Wheel teachings.
  • Provide crisis support and intervention as needed.
  • Travel to and from family homes to provide in-home respite and out-of-home activities.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in an applicable field of study (Psychology, Social Work, Social Sciences).
  • Experience working with families in a supportive manner.
  • Experience working with youth with mental health diagnoses.
  • Experience working with youth with substance use issues.
  • Knowledge of trauma and resilience-informed care.
  • Strong counselling skills and experience in relational care.
  • Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASIST Certificate (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) and/or de-escalation training.
  • Mental Health First Aid and Safe Talk certification.
  • The Link Commit 2 Kids Training.
  • Certification in DLE (The Purposeful Use of Daily Life Events) or TCS (Therapeutic Crisis Solutions).
