Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Family Preservation Clinician to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with our Caring Connections Program, providing family preservation and reunification supports to youth and families experiencing chronic conflict due to mental health and behavioral factors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide mental health support and assessment to youth within a stabilization program home setting
  • Develop and implement goals for youth participating in the Caring Connections program, in collaboration with the Clinical Manager and staff team
  • Provide support to program staff, ensuring consistent and appropriate strategies and approaches are utilized throughout the home
  • Work with children and youth to problem solve, manage conflict, maintaining appropriate boundaries and expectations;
  • Provide mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual support to participants based on the teachings of the Medicine Wheel: facilitate connections with the cultural activities and ceremonies, if requested.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree in an applicable field of study (Psychology, Social Work, Social Sciences)
  • Experience working with families in a supportive manner
  • Experience working with youth with mental health diagnoses and/or problematic substance use
  • Experience working with vulnerable children and youth with complex needs
  • Knowledge of trauma and resilience informed care
  • Strong counselling skills and experience in Relational care, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $22.00 per hour, a benefit package, pension plan, paid sick leave, vacation and paid personal leave days. This position is required to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
