The Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O) at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a highly skilled Mech Sys Mechanic II to join their team. Under the direction of the Supervisor, Maintenance and Construction, this individual will perform a variety of maintenance repairs and installation/replacement of machinery, mechanical equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities- Operate, maintain, repair, and install specialized and complex machinery including pumps, compressors, air moving/distribution equipment, motors, heat exchangers, valves, pneumatic systems, and regulators.
- Respond to mechanical troubles calls and requests within the facilities using hand tools, power tools, analyzing equipment, and testing instruments.
- Perform routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, and inspections on mechanical equipment and related systems.
This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will have a technical school diploma or an equivalent level of knowledge plus three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and installation of mechanical systems/equipment in an industrial, education, and/or healthcare setting.
