Database Systems Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Database Systems Engineer to join our team at Resonaite. As a key member of our database administration team, you will be responsible for providing in-depth operational support and participating in the architecture, deployment, and management of on-premise and cloud-based databases, systems, and services in a geographically distributed environment.

Responsibilities

  • Implement data integration and data warehouse solutions, including data modelling, profiling, and cleansing.
  • Work with 3rd party vendors to enable integration across disparate systems of data interfaces and improve business process efficiency.
  • Continuously assess and optimize database performance by monitoring, fine-tuning, testing, and debugging various aspects.
  • Install, configure, and maintain server software and database servers, proactively monitoring system health and security. Manage database user accounts, permissions, and security levels.
  • Assist with capacity planning to guarantee that databases and applications can accommodate existing and future data and user loads.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, application configurations, and troubleshooting procedures in a CMDB.
  • Establish and enforce security measures, access controls, and encryption protocols to protect sensitive data.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in database administration and data management.
  • Experience contributing to the implementation of data architecture and data management roadmaps with a cloud-first strategy.
  • Experience with MS SQL, Azure SQL, and cloud-based data platforms.
  • Experience in tier 2 and tier 3 database administration support.
  • Strong knowledge of database security, backup, and recovery procedures.
  • Experience with application integration through data interfaces.
  • Experience in business intelligence and data analytics with tools such as Power BI.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Advanced software skills using the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook); experience using client and human resources information systems an asset.

This is a remote job opportunity with occasional team meetings in North Bay. The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
