Job Summary

This role is responsible for supporting the fundraising efforts of Mon Sheong Foundation by identifying, soliciting, and securing donations. The successful candidate will work closely with the Development and Communications team to develop and implement effective fundraising strategies, ensuring maximum financial support for the organization's $30M capital campaign.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of annual donors and prospects, creating cultivation and solicitation plans to engage mid-level donors (annual gifts of $2,000 – $10,000).
  • Design and implement strategies for donor acquisition, leveraging research and data to identify high-potential prospects.
  • Maintain a donor prospect list and active pipeline of quality prospects, ensuring timely follow-up and engagement.
  • Develop and execute a donor communications strategy, collaborating with the Development and Marketing team to deliver online fundraising opportunities and campaigns.
  • Work closely with Development colleagues to ensure successful execution of fundraising and stewardship strategies for mid-level donors.
  • Implement best practices in peer-to-peer fundraising to increase participation and event revenue, inspiring and motivating a portfolio of fundraisers and volunteers.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate and complete records of donor and gift data, adhering to CRA regulations and internal fundraising and finance guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in fundraising, public relations, business, marketing, or a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a fundraising environment.
  • Ability to create compelling written and oral communication for fundraising, presenting it in an engaging way to external stakeholders.
  • Experience writing for digital fundraising, engagement, and storytelling, with a clear understanding of effective messaging.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to communicate in Chinese an asset.
  • Donor-centric professional with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong ability to meet and engage with donors, including prospects.
  • Strong organizational skills and professional demeanor.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and fundraising databases (Raiser's Edge experience an asset).
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
