Job Summary

At Canadian Flatbeds Ltd., we are seeking a skilled Trucking Operations Supervisor to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our trucking fleet, ensuring that our drivers and equipment are operating safely and efficiently.



Key Responsibilities




  • Manage a team of 11-15 drivers, providing guidance and support to ensure they are meeting their performance targets
  • Coordinate and schedule activities to ensure timely delivery of goods and optimal use of equipment
  • Investigate and resolve work-related problems, providing technical advice and recommending measures to improve productivity and product quality
  • Train or arrange for training to ensure that drivers are up-to-date with the latest safety procedures and regulations
  • Recommend personnel actions, including promotions, transfers, and disciplinary measures, as needed
  • Ensure that all health and safety regulations are followed, and that equipment is properly maintained
  • Coordinate repairs and rentals of equipment as needed
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as required


Requirements




  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a supervisory role in the trucking industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with drivers, managers, and other stakeholders
  • Ability to work under pressure and make decisions quickly, as needed
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • High school graduation certificate and completion of a training program in a related field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide support to colleagues as needed
  • Basic computer skills, with the ability to use software applications to track driver performance and manage equipment
