Job Summary

Environmental Resources Management (ERM) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Ecologist to join our team as a Director Level professional. This role will involve providing technical leadership and expertise in ecological consulting, with a focus on supporting our Mining and Energy teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams on ecological consulting projects, including environmental impact assessments and regulatory permitting.
  • Act as a liaison between project management and technical teams, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Develop and implement ecological consulting plans, including scope and delivery requirements, budgeting, resourcing, and project scheduling.
  • Conduct field-based programs, including logistics and resource management, to support ecological consulting projects.
  • Prepare proposals and participate in business development, including development of scopes and cost estimates.
  • Act as a Qualified Person (QP) in support of field teams, assisting with decision-making processes and information sharing.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring quality standards and meeting client expectations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in environmental consulting, with prior experience in government, mining, or oil and gas sectors considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of relevant subject matter and associated operational mitigation measures.
  • Expertise with Federal, Provincial, and Territorial regulations and guidelines.
  • Relevant professional designation or immediate eligibility.
  • Strong commitment to safety and ability to lead, follow directions, and take initiative.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Proven people and project management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a demanding work environment.
