We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Utility Worker to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in assigned areas, adhering to established standards and protocols.
- Perform general repetitive tasks, including cleaning, disinfecting, and restocking supplies.
- Participate in On-the-Job Training programs and seek clarification of duties when needed.
- Offer assistance and instruction to colleagues and demonstrate a professional manner in work settings.
- Channel suggestions, concerns, and queries to appropriate authorities and practice responsible cost effectiveness in the use of time, materials, and equipment.
- Observe all hospital and departmental personnel policies, including patient confidentiality, and promote safety awareness.
Requirements:
- Grade 12/GED or equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and methods applicable to a healthcare setting is an asset.
- Good communication skills are essential.
- Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.
