About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Residential Design Manager to lead our design team in Victoria, BC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for guiding the design phase of projects, ensuring the successful execution of projects, and upholding high ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the design team, providing direction, mentorship, and support.
  • Onboard, train, and mentor new Design Department employees.
  • Provide construction feedback, quarterly conversations, and performance evaluations as per company SOPs.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with direct reports and create a cadence of accountability.
  • Manage department workload, assign teams, and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Oversee Company profit center.
  • Oversee Millwork.
  • Continually improve department workflow, processes, and systems.
  • Work closely with the production and sales team to align design specifications with project budgets.
  • Validate the accuracy of designs before submission to the clients.
  • Ensure all processes align with company goals and client expectations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Registered Interior Designer or equivalent designation a plus.
  • 10 years of experience in design related field, preferably within the residential sector.
  • 5 years in leadership role (Managerial/Supervisor).
  • Tech-savvy with construction management software.
  • Technical Design problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
