About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance to join our team at Child Development Institute. As a key member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for overseeing all finance and accounting functions, ensuring the fiscal health and sustainability of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the finance and accounting functions, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and Board of Directors to develop and implement the organization's financial strategy.
  • Manage the procurement function and vendor relationships.
  • Lead the implementation of external audit recommendations and report regularly to the CEO and Board of Directors on progress achieved.
  • Develop and strengthen the organization's fund accounting system and reporting.
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to senior management and the Board of Directors.
Requirements
  • Progressive experience in a senior financial management role in a non-profit organization.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, financial management, financial analysis, and fund accounting.
  • Experience preparing complex financial reports for government funders.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and forecast budgets and present financial reports.
  • Experience working with nonprofit boards of directors and an understanding of funder risk mitigation, governance, and engagement with external collaborative partners.
