Job Title: Development Tester

At Jobs for Humanity, we are seeking a skilled Development Tester to join our team. As a Development Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our online/backend features throughout production and post-delivery monitoring.

The main responsibilities of this position include:

  • Developing and completing test plans based on game features and design documents to pinpoint bugs and verify all aspects of the game.
  • Conducting tests on various technical features, including deployment of game servers, observability, and live-operated content.
  • Validating the condition of related features in Anvil editor and main builds.
  • Carrying out regular and specific checks of tasks assigned to the production cell.
  • Producing and maintaining documentation on processes or functionalities concerning the team.
  • Using development team tools to identify bugs using the Jira database and following up with other members to facilitate resolution.
  • Working with other development testers to stay up-to-date, fix features, suggest solutions to failures, and share knowledge.
  • Tracking feature bugs found by internal and external teams and following up with developers to ensure correction in real-time.
  • Being the point of contact for teams responsible for feature testing.
  • Collaborating with the team lead and fellow developers to understand the overall game vision and design documentation.

Qualifications:

  • One to two years of experience in quality control/quality assurance in the video game industry.
  • A college degree in Computer Science or other equivalent education.
  • Good knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Knowledge of bug tracking software (e.g., Jira) and test management tools (e.g., TestRail and Xray).
  • Knowledge of and interest in the type of features being applied for.
  • Experience testing in editor (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine, Anvil).
  • A good understanding of the development process and a passion for video games.
  • Proactiveness, autonomy, and resourcefulness.
  • Ability to manage priorities.
  • Ability to work despite interruptions and changes.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
