Industrial Mechanic

As a key member of the Maintenance team at Johnson Electric, the Millwright and Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs and maintenance on mechanical and related equipment, including pumps, valves, electric and pneumatic actuators, motors, gears, hydraulics, and mechanical drives.
- Analyze and troubleshoot equipment issues, making recommendations for repair or replacement as needed.
- Interpret operating and maintenance manuals, diagrams, and schematics to ensure accurate equipment installation and repair.
- Work with external contractors to perform maintenance and repairs, ensuring that all work meets Regional Standards and industry best practices.
- Respond to emergency equipment failures, troubleshoot issues, and diagnose problems to minimize downtime.
- Provide support services to the Region's Special Project Group, assisting with project implementation and equipment start-up and commissioning.
- Maintain a good working relationship with colleagues, customers, and contractors through collaboration, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Utilize a computerized maintenance management system to record work performed, source equipment parts, and update work status as required.
- Perform welding, pipe fitting, and rigging as needed, and other duties as assigned.
- Ensure all work complies with Safety Standards and applicable codes.
- Adhere to Johnson Electric's policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Secondary School Graduation Diploma with a valid Certificate of Apprenticeship.
- Valid Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) in good standing with the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities.
- Three to five years of practical experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, EAM Computerized Maintenance Management System, and other computerized systems an asset.
- Good understanding of safety practices as mandated under the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Ability to interpret equipment manufacturers' schematic drawings and design drawings to validate and provide comments on proposed work.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to noise, heights, confined spaces, poor lighting conditions, and other hazards associated with manufacturing.
- Required to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding to access elevations, and able to crouch, push, pull, lift, and turn while carrying tools and equipment.
- Willing to work overtime and continental 12-hour shift rotation of days and nights.
