Job Title: Transportation Logistics Coordinator/Dispatcher

Employal is seeking a detail-oriented Transportation Logistics Coordinator/Dispatcher to manage and optimize our transportation operations. The ideal candidate will ensure timely delivery of goods while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize transportation routes to ensure timely deliveries while minimizing costs.
  • Assign and schedule drivers to ensure efficient dispatching of vehicles for deliveries and loading of trucks.
  • Process shipping documents for DHL, Purolator, UPS, and FedEx, electronically or manually, for domestic and international shipments.
  • Maintain clear communication with drivers, customers, and warehouse staff regarding shipment statuses and any potential delays.
  • Address and resolve any logistical issues or challenges that arise during transportation, including delays or routing changes.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate shipping and delivery documentation, including bills of lading and shipping manifests.
  • Track shipments in transit using GPS and other tracking systems, providing real-time updates to stakeholders.
  • Provide exceptional service to customers, addressing inquiries and concerns related to transportation logistics.
  • Ensure all transportation activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
  • Generate reports on transportation metrics, including delivery times, costs, and service levels for management review.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in transportation logistics or dispatching, preferably in the transportation industry.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite Excel, Word, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety compliance.
