Senior Manager, Operational Accounting

We are seeking a seasoned accounting leader to join our team at STARS Air Ambulance. As a Senior Manager, Operational Accounting, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the full accounting cycle, ensuring timely and accurate month-end close.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly internal reporting packages, providing meaningful insights and analysis.
- Collaborate with the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting, to prepare external quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements.
- Lead the annual capital and operating budget process, analyzing variances and working with budget owners.
- Oversee preparation of quarterly provincial government reporting and provide verbal updates to government partners.
- Work closely with the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting and other stakeholders to manage working capital and cash transfers.
- Lead the Accounts Payable function for the organization.
- Identify and promote continuous improvements, including system and technology gaps.
- Professional accounting designation (CA/CPA) is required.
- A minimum of seven years of progressive operational accounting experience in complex, multi-jurisdictional organizations.
- Three to five years of experience in a leadership position is required.
- Established track record of strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Office 365 applications, especially MS Excel and working knowledge of data analytics tools such as Power BI.
