Mechanical Systems Inspector

Main Responsibilities:
- Inspect mechanical systems, equipment, and installations to verify compliance with local codes and safety regulations.
- Review mechanical plans and specifications to ensure they meet all required regulations and technical requirements.
- Conduct inspections of HVAC systems, plumbing systems, elevators, and other mechanical installations at various stages of construction and operation.
- Identify and document violations, deficiencies, or hazards in mechanical systems and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records of inspections, compliance, and enforcement actions.
- Provide technical guidance and support to contractors, engineers, and property owners regarding mechanical codes and safety practices.
- Respond to inquiries and complaints related to mechanical installations and code compliance.
- Stay updated on changes in mechanical codes, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure accurate inspections and recommendations.
Requirements:
- Relevant certification or diploma in Mechanical Inspection, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a mechanical inspector or in a similar role with a strong understanding of mechanical codes and safety regulations.
- Excellent observational and analytical skills for assessing mechanical systems and identifying issues.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with contractors, engineers, and municipal officials.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for managing inspection reports and records.
- Ability to stay current with evolving mechanical codes, regulations, and industry practices.
