About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to join our team at Amazon Development Centre Canada ULC. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in helping us craft the future of how Amazonians access customer data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Extract actionable business and security opportunities using streaming and historical data from sensors and devices.
  • Build data systems that continuously measure key performance indicators for security.
  • Build self-service tools and visuals that drive troubleshooting and deep-dives into customer or security impacting issues.
  • Drive cross-team projects to drive clarity and accuracy in measurements and issues.
A Day in the Life

You will drive the implementation of tools, systems, and dashboards that produce measurements, insights, and opportunities using data for endpoint security programs and products. You will partner closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Software Engineers to build scalable tools and systems.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of professional or military experience
  • 5+ years of SQL experience
  • Experience programming to extract, transform, and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
  • Experience managing, analyzing, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Experience with AWS technologies
  • Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning, and data mining
