Join Our Team as a General Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated General Psychiatrist to join our team at Island Health. As a key member of our outpatient mental health team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our clinical services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality outpatient mental health services to patients with serious and persistent mental illness, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, severe depression, and severe personality disorders.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and support to patients and their families.
  • Participate in medical audits, peer reviews, and chart reviews to ensure the quality and efficiency of our services.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures.
  • Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Eligible for licensure in British Columbia.
  • Experience in outpatient mental health services, preferably in a team-based setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and education.
