About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HR Generalist to join our team at PreCon Precast Limited. As a key member of our HR team, you will play a critical role in supporting our operations group and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide onsite HR support to our operations group, including labour relations, performance management, policy implementation, onboarding and training, and compliance.
  • Support labour relation matters, including joint labour management meetings, collective agreement interpretation and application, grievance procedures and progressive discipline process.
  • Proactively identify opportunities and assess improvements to the employee experience, driving engagement and implementing innovative and lasting solutions.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and provide resolution to matters, partnering with the H&S team to promote a culture of safety.
  • Maintain employee data, using the human capital management system and provide support to employees and supervisors as needed.
  • Oversight of the attendance management program and communications with managers/employees.
  • Facilitate new hire orientations/onboarding for both salaried and hourly employees.
  • Participate in weekly HR team meetings (local and corporate) and in operational meetings.
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives, including quarterly HR reporting in alignment with company goals.
  • Full-cycle recruitment for hourly workforce as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years progressive HR experience in a generalist role with varied responsibilities across many HR functions.
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant post-secondary degree in Human Resources or Industrial Relations.
  • CPHR designation would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in a unionized labour environment with a strong understanding of collective agreements, interpretation and application.
  • Experience in construction and/or manufacturing is considered an asset.
  • Technologically inclined, including strong Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated experience managing priorities with flexibility in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to travel to the main office and to offsite events as needed.
