Job Opening: Litigation Associate Counsel

A prestigious legal firm is looking for an associate to enhance their team. We are in search of a skilled and enthusiastic Litigation Associate Counsel to join our growing practice.

As an integral member of our litigation practice group, you will engage in intricate litigation cases representing clients within the construction sector. This position offers substantial exposure to a variety of construction-related disputes, facilitating invaluable experience and opportunities for professional advancement. Candidates should possess strong research and writing capabilities and exhibit critical thinking, effective communication, and teamwork skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee a varied caseload of construction litigation cases, including contract disputes, construction defects, mechanic's liens, and other construction-related matters.
  2. Perform legal research, draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and various legal documents.
  3. Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, trials, and alternative dispute resolution processes.
  4. Collaborate efficiently with partners, associates, and support personnel to secure favorable results for clients.
  5. Provide strategic guidance and counsel to clients on construction law issues, ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
  1. Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law institution.
  2. Preferred experience of 3-5 years in litigation at a reputable law firm.
  3. At least two years of construction litigation experience in British Columbia.
  4. Strong analytical, research, and writing abilities.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
