This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic and collaborative team of Nurse Practitioners at Alberta Health Services, providing care at the Northeast Community Health Centre and the Strathcona Community Hospital. Both facilities offer 24/7 emergency departments and a range of ambulatory, laboratory, and diagnostic imaging services.
About the Role:
As a Nurse Practitioner, you will provide comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan, integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert evidence-based clinical care to patients
- Lead and participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient care
- Develop and implement education programs for patients and healthcare staff
- Contribute to research and knowledge translation initiatives
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Nursing or related field
- Registration with CRNA on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a wide range of assessment, treatment, and therapeutic interventions
- Knowledge of current research and interest in research-based care
- Completion of ACLS and one or more of: PALS, TNCC, ITLS, and NRP
