Key Responsibilities- Administer tests and instruct patients on procedures, recording results and monitoring equipment.
- Assess patients' physical abilities and develop treatment plans under the direction of physiotherapists and/or occupational therapists.
- Assist health care professionals with patient care and rehabilitation programs.
- Supervise technical and support staff, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
- Apply and adjust casts, splints, and bandages, as well as clean and maintain equipment.
- Compound, package, and label pharmaceutical products, and lay out surgical instruments.
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment and instrumentation, adhering to standardized safety practices.
- Plan physiotherapy programs, process claims, and select appropriate exercises and apparatus.
- Maintain clinical and progress reports, inventory of equipment, and confer with other health professionals.
- Conduct research in physiotherapy and perform general clerical duties, including preparing and maintaining cleanliness of collection areas.
- Process files and paperwork, schedule and confirm appointments, and manage routine office functions.
- Teach and/or supervise exercises to patients, order supplies and equipment, and organize and maintain inventory.
- 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
- College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, and repetitive tasks.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with attention to detail and ability to distinguish between colours.
- Punctuality, client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, and excellent written communication.
- Flexibility, initiative, organized, reliability, and team player.
