About the RoleThis Environmental Coordinator role is a key position within our organization, responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and promoting sustainable practices across our operations.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and submit environmental reports and compliance applications as required by federal, provincial, and municipal regulations.
- Collaborate with plant staff to ensure adherence to environmental laws and regulations.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of our Environmental Management System.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce environmental impacts and improve performance.
- Manage contracted service companies working on environmental projects.
- Liaise with government officials and stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Support the Environmental Manager in promoting a culture of environmental responsibility within the organization.
- Honours degree or diploma in Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in the environmental and/or consulting industry.
- Familiarity with current environmental regulations and industry best practices.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interpret and apply environmental legislation.
This role is based in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with a focus on safety and environmental sustainability. The successful candidate will be required to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and communication.
