Northern Alberta EMS Advanced Care Paramedic

Are you looking for a unique opportunity to make a difference in rural emergency care? We are seeking an Advanced Care Paramedic to join our team in Northern Alberta.
This role will challenge you to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, where you will have the opportunity to assess emergency scenes and patients, and transport ill or injured patients from emergency scenes and between facilities.
As an Advanced Care Paramedic, you will operate ambulances or other modes of transportation, administer medications, advanced life support (ALS) airway adjuncts and electrical therapy, and lead the ALS crew in delivering clinical care during patient transport or at emergency scenes.
Working in Northern Alberta will provide you with the opportunity to experience diverse landscapes, from expansive prairie fields to bustling urban centers, and to work with a team that is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in emergency medical services, with experience in practices and procedures in the North Zone, working in a suburban/rural emergency environment, and in patient care in a clinical or pre-hospital setting.
Additionally, you will need to be willing to orientate entry-level candidates with an interest in North Zone, and have a strong understanding of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test and its requirements.

- Non-restricted registration in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACOP) as an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
- Ability to obtain a valid class 4 Alberta Operator License or equivalent and a five (5) year driver abstract current within six (6) months with no more than six (6) demerits prior to commencing work.
- Proof of the successful completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test via the certificate provided by the Lifemark organization.
