Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Systems Analyst to join our team at the Royal Bank of Canada. As a key member of our Technology and Operations division, you will play a critical role in delivering innovative and transformative IT solutions to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with resources across IT and the HR business line to assess, research, and analyze business, technical, and system needs.
  • Develop and recommend technology solutions and designs that meet stakeholder requirements, including component reusability, data sharing, and security.
  • Lead and facilitate detailed technical design phases to identify, track, and resolve technical issues.
  • Develop detailed plans and accurate estimates for completion of build, system testing, and implementation phases of projects.
  • Develop, code, document, and execute unit test, system, integration, and acceptance test using different languages and testing tools for functions of high complexity.
  • Prepare high-level and detailed technical specifications and other documentation for projects in accordance with PLC, security, and architecture documentation objectives.
  • Organize and participate in walkthrough reviews of all technical specifications, programs, and unit test plans.
  • Develop criteria for and participate in the evaluation of 3rd party vendors and software as well as due diligence exercises.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in development (SQL, .NET deployment, Redhat Linux).
  • Proven experience working on various applications (e.g. SaaS, on premise) with multiple functions.
  • Understanding of DEV Ops methodology and tools (e.g. GitHub, Jenkins, UrbanCode Deploy) and different programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, C# .NET, JSON).
  • Experience working with various networking / infrastructures such as Servers, Single-Sign-On (SSO), File Transfer.
  • Excellent communication and written skills and the ability to write or support detailed technical specifications in accordance with SDLC, security, and architecture document objectives.
  • Experience working on initiatives using Iterative Waterfall or Agile methodologies.
  • Great attention to detail, organizational skills, and an analytical mind.
