Job Title: General Duty Nurse

Job Summary:

The Health Sciences Centre is seeking a skilled and compassionate General Duty Nurse to join our team. As a General Duty Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional nursing services to patients, including those with complex and unpredictable health needs.
  • Administer prescribed medical treatments and medications as ordered by physicians.
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans to meet those needs.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and discharge.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program.
  • Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
  • Minimum of one year acute Medical/Surgical Nursing experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in the use of electronic medical records and other healthcare software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a hospital setting.
  • Knowledge of College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses.
  • Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses.
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
